About Güllüoğlu (Gulluoglu) Kuwait

Güllüoğlu — pronounced gul-loo-oh-loo, often written in English as Gulluoglu — is a name that means baklava. For six generations, the Güllüoğlu family has hand-crafted Turkish baklava in the centuries-old Anatolian tradition. From a small workshop in Gaziantep to a heritage that travelled across continents, the name has become synonymous with authentic, hand-layered baklava made with paper-thin phyllo, butter, premium nuts, and light sugar syrup — nothing else.

Six Generations of Turkish Baklava Heritage

The Güllüoğlu story begins in the 19th century in Gaziantep, the historic Antep region of Turkey — the home of the world’s finest pistachios. From master baklava-maker to son, the recipe and technique have been passed down through six generations, refined but never industrialised. Every layer is still rolled by hand, every nut still hand-chopped, every sheet still brushed with butter the way it was a century ago.

Across the world, the Güllüoğlu (Gulluoglu) name is associated with the gold standard of Turkish baklava — the kind you serve at weddings, at Eid, at the end of dinner when nothing less will do.

Our Kuwait operation brings that same hand-layered tradition to the Kuwaiti table. We bake fresh from our four locations — Jahra, Shuwaikh, Al-Rai, and Mubarakiya — with same-day delivery across the country. No shortcuts, no industrial fillings, no day-old trays. Every order is hand-cut and hand-packed.

Beyond baklava, our Kuwait kitchens also craft the classic Levantine and Khaleeji desserts that complete the local hospitality table — fresh kunafa baked to order, ma’amoul (معمول), barazek (برازق), Kuwaiti cardamom ghraybeh (غريبة), Turkish dondurma ice cream, premium Kakaw chocolates, and Abraj Arabic and Turkish coffees.
